Iverson has found a new source of income and has signed a one month deal to play in the Dominican Republic, according to Sportando.net:

Allen Iverson signed a one-month deal to play in Dominican Republic with Capitanes de la Bahia to play the XXXII Torneo de Baloncesto superior de Santiago.

Nunez, president of the club, confirmed the deal with Iverson. Iverson will fly from Atlanta to his new destination.

Iverson is expected to earn $22,000USD to play in Dominican Republic.

Williams (best known as ‘The Wire’s gay hit man Omar Little) has been cast to play ODB in the feature ‘Dirty White Boy,’ a biopic about … a shady white manager he had late in his career.

The film centers around the “astounding” rise of Jarred Weisfeld, a 22-year-old VH1 intern who talked his way into managing the troubled rapper shortly before his tragic, drug-related death in 2004. The role of Weisfeld, who has gone on to produce several films of his own, including ‘Charlie Sheen: Hollywood Blackbook,’ and ‘Chasing Gaga,’ has yet to be cast.

A case that reopened old wounds in a racially tense Mississippi city has new developments almost a year later.

Three Jackson teens are expected to plead guilty to hate crimes, for the murder of 49-year-old James C. Anderson June 26, 2011.

According to law enforcement officials, Anderson died after he was beaten and run over by a truck driven by 19-year-old Deryl Dedmon. The teen was part of a group white youths, including John Aaron Rice and Dylan Butler, “who decided to ‘go f**k with some n*ggers’ after a night of partying and drinking,” CNN reports.

Bearing the brunt of a federal takeover of his investigation, a vote of no confidence by city commissioner, and growing international outrage, Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee, Jr announced Thursday that he was temporarily stepping aside, to let the others lead the investigation of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin’s death.

The 52-year-old top cop of the Orlando suburb has defended his department’s handling of the investigation, but quickly came under fire after 911 tapes revealed 17-year-old Martin’s shooter, George Zimmerman, may not have actually shot the teen in self defense.

From a Thursday press conference:

“While I stand by the Sanford Police Department, its personnel and the investigation that was conducted in regards to the Trayvon Martin case, it is apparent that my involvement in this matter is overshadowing the process… Therefore, I have come to the decision that I must temporarily remove myself from the position as the police chief of the City of Sanford. I do this in hopes of restoring some semblance of calm to this city, which has been in turmoil for several weeks.”

First Lady Michelle Obama will lead the U.S. delegation at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, according the MSNBC.

The Summer Games will be held from July 27-August 12.

In celebration of today’s announcement, Mrs. Obama held a “mini-Olympics” event at American University for local Washington D.C. children.

Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Melanie Fiona sat down with Rolling Stone.

In this interview this Melanie, who hails from Canada tells Rolling Stone about being nervous the first time she met Cee-Lo and that she felt the whole experience was “…meant to happen.” She also speaks on being in a band many years ago with Drake. The band was called Renaissance. Am I the only person on the planet who had no idea that Drizzy used to be in a band? Melanie speaks fondly of her childhood buddy who even helped to pen a song for her new album.

There was some speculation that Fisher might have some interest in the Heat or Spurs, but it was pretty clear that the best match for him was the Thunder.

It isn’t as if his addition will make or break OKC, but it will not hurt them in any way. It is no risk and high reward.

Fisher is a team guy, who is known to make clutch baskets, who doesn’t need a player like that? Plus his role will be more specific on the OKC than it was on Lakers. He can step right in and be a Steve Kerr type player for them.

Former Lakers point guard Derek Fisher is in Oklahoma City to finalize talks on a contract. Fisher was spotted at OKC’s Will Rogers World Airport early this morning with Thunder GM Sam Presti and other members of the Thunder front office. Fisher has reportedly been in final negotiations with the Thunder on a contract that would bring him to the Western Conference leaders after he clears waivers.
